Interview
I have a job interview tomorrow at 7:30 at Empire Theatres. People who know me well will know that I worked at the theatre in Saint John before it expanded... It didn't work out so they let me loose... Hopefully this'll be a better experience. Maybe I'll even get to go straight to usher cause I spent 3 months in the concession stand already....Looks like I'll have to be superquick and have my labs done before 7:30...

Today...in point form
-woke up later than I had planned due to alarm clock not working-drove into Saint John to talk to students at HVHS
-after first talk, went to McD's for breakfast
-after breakfast went to museum to chat, looked at nifty new exhibits
-went to UNBSJ to find Nathan, couldn't find him but ran in to other friends and talked for a bit
-went back to HVHS for second talk
-left Saint John at noon
-went home, transferred vehicles, left for Fredericton
-arrived in Fredericton at 1:30
-bought parking pass, then went to find Jim to move furnitre
-eventually tracked down Jim, moved furniture to Bailey Room
-loaded truck up with excess furniture
-went to igmetpet lab
-after lab drove Greg home with his chairs
-went to Fredericton home to get some things
-left Fredericton home. Discovered signal lights in truck no longer work
-left for Saint John-got home, unloaded truck, headed back into Saint John for movie
-picked up Josh, called Curtis and invited him to movie
-arrived at theatre, discovered taillights on truck don't work either
-watched Saw II. It was awesome. Am told it is better than original
-dropped Josh off and headed home
Total km's driven today: ~320
Total time driving: ~3h
Driving long distances repeatedly kinda sucks. I suppose just doing local deliveries mightn't be so bad...

Final note
Although this morning was very crappy with the wind and the rain and the cold, it ended up being a beautiful night. No wind, no rain, not very chilly at all. Almost wish Broster had run class until 9 so I would've taken the 13N instead of the 11N and had a 10 minute walk home instead of a 2 second walk. Oh well.Um...huh?
So it looks like that quiz result post is fucking up my layout... *shrug* Here's hoping more posts will push it down enough!Achieved ambassador status
Here at UNB they have this program called Engineering Ambassadors. Its where engineering students go back to their high schools and talk to math & physics classes about engineering (basically, a big recruitment drive. they pay transportation!). So, I signed up to go back to HVHS and talk about engineering on Friday. They have me talking to a physics class at 0900 (taught by a teacher that's new) and and AP math class at 1125 (taught by my AP calculus teacher). I'm starting to get excited. This should be fun! They gave me a bunch of overheads and a basic little presentation thing I can use if I choose, which I probably will. Maybe through some banter in as well. We'll see how it goes. The upside is I get to borrow dad's truck to come back to Freddy for fluids and igmetpet lab, after which I'll run some resumes around and then head home (providing its not raining again).Oh and weird quote of the day from L. "Chris is stripping, let's watch"

Oops.
So today is a field trip for seds/structures. Its optional and I don't get anything out of it for structures but I could've gotten some extra marks for seds. They left the geo building at 0845 and silly me set my alarm clock for PM instead of AM so I woke up needed to relieve myself at 0820. No possible way I was going to get to the geo building in 25 minutes. I didn't really want to go on the trip anyways so I guess I lucked out in the end. Might've been fun to spend more time with all the geo folk but a bunch of us went to the Cellar last night after our igmetpet exam and had a merry old time. Could've spent time with the new second year folk I've befriended but oh well. Some other time.Monday, October 17, 2005
APB for a lid...
I swear every day its harder and harder to find lids for containers in Helen's cupboard. The graemlins keep making off with them. Or maybe its the gnomes...I should buy a sandwich container and keep it squirrelled away in my room so I can always find the container and matching lid........

Complaints? See the complaint department, off that plank there
People that complain about course load when they have no right to really bother me. I hear people complain about taking so many of certain courses and how they're so hard and so much work and they have no time to do all the work, yadda yadda yadda. Most of the time when I hear people complain thusly I think back to all my schedules and about 90% of the time I've had it harder than them. Just this term a girl I know dropped a course, an easy course, because it gave her 23 credit hours and she couldn't do the work and couldn't handle the extra lab. This term I'm taking 24 credit hours and I have 4 labs. I'm taking all the same geology courses she was plus fluid mechanics. And in the past I've taken the max amount of ch in a term, which is 28. Come on, people! Is it just me? Is it because I'm in engineering that I have no problem taking 24+ ch a term with 4 labs (5 next term, whee)? I expect this. University is hard work. If you want to get a degree without doing much work get out of science and head up the hill. And stop complaining when other people have it harder than you.Thursday, October 06, 2005
Busy busy busy
This week has been really busy. Two week seds lab due today. Igmetpet lab due today. Structures lab due tomorroe. Fluids assignment due Friday. I stayed after glacial class today and finished up the structures lab cause I knew I wouldn't work on it once I got home. Sticking around paid off - Warna drove me home. Yay for saving money. Home again this weekend, should be fun. Might have a buyer for some of the parts truck, we'll see what happens. When I got home I watched the CSI telemovie directed by Quentin Tarantino. Man, it was intense. A couple of classic Tarantino moments there. George Eads is a really really good actor. You could feel Nick's pain and then his immense relief at finally being freed. Awesome show.
And now to finish off with a quiz:

You are Jayne, the bravo of the group. You may not
be too bright, but you got muscles and can hit
a man in the neck from 500 yards with a bent
scope. You send money to your mother and as
much has you may dislike it, you're a hero.
Which Firefly character are you?

Guess the artist
Stole from someone who stole from someone... Have at it!The rules:
1. Open a music player.
2. Go to 'all music'/'library'.
3. Hit shuffle.
4. Find photos of the first 12 artists/bands that come up [no repeats and no cheating].
5. Have people guess who the artists/bands are.
Update: because no one can seem to guess (or no one cares) I'll put the answers up...
Some are obvious, some are not...

Hello teacher tell me what's me lesson
Whoever guesses what song that's from wins a prize! Sort of.Friday was the First Annual Bailey & GE Society House Crawl! A good time was had by all, including a way too drunk Jill and by the end of the night a case of the unknown keys. It was well planned such that the progression of houses was all downhill, which is very conducive to inebriation. The best place was the last place, of course. Props to Nesha for decorating her apartment so well and also to having a really really nice apartment! I want to live there. Once I got home I watched the episode of Alias I had missed on Thursday (incidentally, I have found another follower of Alias, hooray!).
Saturday I went home on the bus. It was a boring time as usual. When I got home dad & I put the box back on my truck and I tried to practice driving. But we believe that the truck needs a tune-up in order for me to practice as its not running right.
Saturday night Nathan & I went to see Serenity. Oh. My. God. It was awesome. To quote Stephen: "Serenity kicks ten out of ten asses." So true. I really must find other people who want to go see it and see it again. I really hope there's a sequel movie or another TV series. FOX was very very silly when they cancelled Firefly. They should burn in hell.
Sunday dad brought me back to Fredericton along with a new bed. I'm a little disappointed at having to back to a twin bed again but the futon was really uncomfortable this time around and it really does take up a lot of space in here. Also, dad & I went out to Durham Bridge to look at a Bronco II (hey, always looking for the next project...). The truck is..a mess. There's no transmission in it at all, there's no wheels on the back, the rear main leaf springs are busted. But, the body is solid. If I could get it from the buddy for say $50 I'd take it. But anymore than that is a waste of money. We'll see what happens.
